About

The Palazzo dei Normanni is also known as the Royal Palace of Palermo.

It served as the seat of the Kings of Sicily with the Hauteville dynasty and subsequently as the main seat of power for the following rulers of Sicily. Since 1946, the Sicilian Regional Assembly has held its meetings there. In addition to serving as Frederick II's and Conrad IV's imperial seat, the building is the oldest royal residence in Europe.
