Carlo Scarpa restored this medieval castle.
Castelvecchio (Old Castle) is an imposing military structure from the 14th century, commissioned by the powerful Della Scala (commonly known as Scaligeri). Along the west side of the historic center, it stands with little decoration and is constructed of soft red bricks.
