The Basilica of Saint Alexander in Column is a place of great historical and religious significance.

According to tradition, it is where Saint Alexander was martyred. Its origins can be traced back to the early centuries of Christianity, closely connected to the martyrdom of Saint Alexander, an important figure from Bergamo. The first known record mentioning this church dates back to 1133. Over time, it has undergone numerous transformations and reconstructions.
