About
The heart of the famous neoclassical sculptor is contained in a sinister pyramid in the Frari.
The Frari church houses the heart of Antonio Canova, the renowned Italian neoclassical sculptor. His students created a pyramid-shaped memorial for him, based off a sketch he had made for the tomb of Venetian painter Titian. The structure is adorned with Masonic symbols in recognition of Canova's Freemason membership, distinguishing it from other tombs in the basilica.
