In a natural cave, there is a spiritual sanctuary.
The sanctuary is located on the side of a rocky mountain near Lake Varano, within an ancient natural cave. As with its better-known counterpart in Monte Sant'Angelo, the Grotto Church of Saint Michael (also known as Saint Michael's Cave) also celebrates Saint Michael the Archangel in its sacred cavern.
