About

The National Museum of Cinema, located in Turin, Italy, is a stunning motion picture museum housed within the Mole Antonelliana tower.

It is managed by the Maria Adriana Prolo Foundation and showcases a remarkable collection curated by the renowned historian and collector, Maria Adriana Prolo. Formerly located in Palazzo Chiablese, the museum attracted an impressive 532,196 visitors in 2008, making it one of the most popular museums in Italy. Its extensive collection includes pre-cinematographic optical devices such as magic lanterns, early and modern film technologies, props from iconic Italian films, and other significant artifacts. Spanning over 35,000 square feet on five levels, visitors can explore areas dedicated to different aspects of filmmaking. The main hall is particularly noteworthy as it was originally designed as a synagogue but now features unique chapels representing various film genres.
