About

One of the sirens Ulysses encountered in the Odyssey was said to have lived on this tiny island, according to tradition.

Along the beautiful coast of Cilento, in Southern Italy, the town of Castellabate is a renowned tourist destination. Castellabate is known for its pristine beaches, which are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and boating. Nearby is Licosa Island, which contains many ruins from ancient civilizations, including a 2,000-year-old Roman villa and Greek ruins from the colonization of Magna Graecia. The waters around the island have caused many shipwrecks over the centuries, so a small lighthouse was constructed to warn sailors of the danger.
