About
An incredible collection of more than 3 million taxidermied animals at Europe's oldest science museum.
Located just a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, the oldest European science museum and the first public wunderkammer of the 18th century can be accessed via unassuming stone stairs. Its popularity is overshadowed by Pitti Palace, which is nearby. The museum is most famous for its anatomical wax collection, but also has a taxidermied menagerie with more than 3 million animals (of which 5,000 are displayed).
