The Dora Park, located near the historical city centre of Turin, is a post-industrial urban park that sits at the heart of an expansive area known as "Spine 3".

This area spans over 1 million square meters and was once home to major factories such as Fiat Ferriere, Michelin, Savigliano, and Paracchi. Taking advantage of their proximity to the river and railway, these factories thrived in the past. The park itself covers an impressive 456,000 square meters and takes its name from the Dora Riparia river which flows through it from west to east. Surrounding suburbs like San Donato and Campidoglio in the south, as well as Lucento and Madonna di Campagna in the north, have become integral parts of Turin's fourth class. Since 1998, this entire area has been governed by an Urban Requalification Program that utilizes both private and public resources. In 2004, an international competition was held for the park's design and ultimately won by Peter Latz's team - known for creating Duisburg Nord's Landschaftspark in Germany's Ruhr basin.
