About
This stone chair sits on an island in the Venetian Lagoon that has nothing to do with the Hun King.
Before the Venetian Lagoon was overshadowed by Venice, Torcello was one of the first inhabited islands in the region and a flourishing town. Torcello and the other islands in the lagoon were a refuge for people during the downfall of the Western Roman Empire from invading armies. As one of the most feared of the invading peoples in 452, the Huns led by Attila destroyed the nearby city of Altinum.
