About

The alluring scent of the Mediterranean scrub announces the presence of Capo Spartivento, enveloping travelers well before it comes into sight.

Perched atop the promontory, where land and sky blend harmoniously, stands the guardian of this rugged terrain. Its ancient walls welcome guests as natural extensions of the rocky landscape. Known as Faro Capo-Spartivento, this lighthouse has been transformed into a tranquil retreat destination, offering hospitality, care, and serenity to all who visit. Originally commissioned in 1854 by Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy and built by the Italian Navy on South Western Sardinia, it was damaged by American planes during World War II. However, it was restored after the war and served as a home for lighthouse keepers until automation took over in the 1980s. For over three decades, it lay forgotten until a passionate and dedicated team embarked on an ambitious renovation project beginning in 2006. Now, this historic building stands as Italy's first lighthouse intended for reception and has been recognized by leaders in the Italian Navy as a shining example of military architecture restoration.
