During the 19th century, Rome underwent a period of architectural rebirth with the construction of numerous aristocratic palaces that were sought after by the noble class and wealthy bourgeoisie of the Papal States. One such palace is Palazzo dei Cardinali, constructed between the 15th and 16th century, characterized by traditional Roman architecture with its columns, pillars, façade and balustrades. Following its restoration, ancient frescoes were uncovered on its vaulted ceilings, believed to be created by "Arciconfraternita della Madonna del Carmine alle tre cannelle".
