Originally from Tuscany, the birthplace of modern ice cream, Giunetto Cardelli moved to Milan in the early 1960s and shortly thereafter, in 1964, founded La Bottega del Gelato.
Marco, Giunetto's son, breathed the atmosphere of the laboratory from an early age, observing his father while he prepared some delicious creation. n the following years, Giunetto and his son Marco dedicated themselves with care and passion to the art of artisanal ice cream making, consolidating the business with their experience and professionalism.
New and more recent changes to the furnishings have made the venue a point of reference for the category and an ideal environment to present the Cardellis' cold creations.On November 16, 2015, the Municipality of Milan bestowed the prestigious "Historical Shop" designation on La Bottega del Gelato, recognizing it as one of the shops that represent the city's history, tradition, and memory.
