About
The Bar of real Rome since 1969 in the heart of Trastevere.
In the 1960s, Marcello Forti left his hometown of Busci in L'Aquila province and moved to Rome in search of new job opportunities. He started out working various jobs in the restaurant industry, ranging from dishwasher to waiter to assistant chef. However, towards the end of the decade, he had the opportunity to purchase a bar that was being sold by its previous owners. Originally just a small shop with a haberdashery next door, Marcello saw potential for growth and jumped at the opportunity to expand when the haberdashery closed down. Today, even on chilly days, customers can enjoy their drinks inside among the many paintings and memories created by Bar San Calisto's loyal patrons.
