About
Established in 2011, Birrificio 2 Sorelle blends beer craftsmanship with environmental stewardship. Rooted in the Langhe region, our brewery thrives on sustainable practices, from photovoltaic energy to biomass heating.
Founded in 2011 alongside the acquisition of a historic farmhouse from the early 19th century, Birrificio 2 Sorelle is nestled on the left bank of the Belbo stream. Through meticulous renovation in 2012-2013, the beauty of the stone farmhouse was restored, providing a home to a 20 hL brewing room, 40 hL fermenters, and a modern bottling line. Adjacent fields cultivate barley for malt, integral to our beer production.
Deeply tied to the Langhe region, environmental responsibility is integral. A 20 KWP photovoltaic system powers our production, while biomass boilers, fueled by wood from our vineyard pruning and forests, sustain heating needs. Wastewater is managed sustainably through an active sludge treatment plant. Sisters Federica and Elisa Toso bring academic and artistic prowess to the brewery, overseeing agriculture, raw material sourcing, and creative design. Birrificio 2 Sorelle is more than a brewery; it's a sustainable journey through craftsmanship and innovation.
